Friday Folder Communication

Communication from Mr. Harris, School Office, District Office, and Community Education:

Friday Folders are an important part of school. These folders provide you as parents’ important communication from the community, school district, school, and my classroom. I realize at different times of the year these folders can get quite full. This is especially true when our community education program has a lot of information to be sent home. As a parent myself I do sift through and keep what I think is necessary for our family as I am sure you do for your family. I know our school and our district is continuing to implement initiatives that help us to be more “paperless and follow values of a “green school.” This is the very reason why I put so much information on my classroom blog.

I would like to encourage parents to set aside time on the weekend to go over any student work, projects or tests that your student completed during the week. It is a good time to encourage your child in what they are doing at school and a way to show them that you think what they do at school is important. For my family our Sunday family meal worked well to go over Friday Folders at the end of our meal. Your time may be different but whatever it is make sure it is part of your routine on the weekend.

Routinely, there are things that need to be signed and returned to either the classroom or the school office. In addition, you will also find a signature page on the Friday Folder cover. Please take a moment to sign the cover page to let me know you have seen the Friday Folder over the weekend and return the signed folder with your student on Monday morning.
